Blood Drive
In 2015, this initiative was introduced by Sufi Javed Sahib (RA) after it came to light that the number of blood donors from a South Asian background was significantly low in comparison with Birmingham’s population.
Sufi Javed Sahib (RA) became the first person from the Sufi Abdullah Foundation to donate blood. This was a pivotal moment, inspiring many South Asian Muslims to do the same.
This contribution remains vital in helping the NHS meet the medical needs of the community, as Muslims and South Asians currently make up 30% and 31% of Birmingham’s population, respectively.
