WMFS Safe and Well Visits

As a community partner working with West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS), we actively engage with local residents to encourage them to arrange home visits from WMFS. A lack of functioning smoke alarms significantly increases the risk of accidental fires. That’s why, during each visit, a fire and smoke risk assessment is carried out, and free safety equipment is installed where necessary.

We collect information from households requesting a Safe and Well visit and share this with WMFS. The service then assesses and prioritises visits based on several factors, including—though not limited to—whether there is someone in the home with an impairment, of advanced age or an infant.
